White corundum segment sand is an abrasive product made from industrial alumina powder through high-temperature melting,cooling,crushing,screening and other processes.It has the characteristics of high hardness,high wear resistance,high temperature resistance,and good chemical stability,and is widely used in abrasive tools,refractory materials,precision casting and other fields.
1、Production process
Raw material preparation:High purity industrial alumina powder is used as the raw material,with a requirement of alumina content≥99%,no impurities,and uniform particle size.
High temperature melting:Inject aluminum oxide powder into an electric arc furnace and melt it at a temperature above 2000℃to form white corundum melt.
Cooling and crushing:After cooling,the melt is subjected to multi-stage crushing processes such as coarse and fine crushing to produce particles of different sizes.
Screening and iron removal:Sand with particle size ranges(such as 0-1mm,1-3mm,3-5mm,5-8mm,etc.)is obtained through screening equipment,and iron impurities are removed by magnetic separators to improve purity.
Drying and packaging:After the sand is dried,it is packaged according to customer needs,such as 25kg plastic woven bags,ton bags,etc.
2、Performance characteristics
High hardness and wear resistance:The Mohs hardness is close to 9(second only to diamond),with good wear resistance,suitable for grinding and polishing hard materials.
High temperature resistance:maintains stable performance in high temperature environments,suitable for high-temperature processing fields.
Good chemical stability:It has excellent resistance to acids,alkalis,and corrosive gases,and is suitable for corrosive environments.
Good self sharpening:New sharp edges and corners are constantly generated during the grinding process,maintaining efficient grinding.
High purity:The alumina content is usually≥99%,ensuring excellent performance.
Recyclable:Dust and waste can be recycled and processed,reducing production costs and environmental pollution.
3、Application Fields
Abrasive and Grinding Tools:Used for manufacturing fixed grinding tools(such as grinding wheels)and coated grinding tools(such as sandpaper),suitable for grinding and polishing metal and non-metal surfaces.
